Do your comics justice
We make them when we purchase: loose collections of heroes, banded together, describing something more than their individual parts.
Forged to a single purpose, The League was designed to hold comics. No more, no less. Card catalog hardware on every deep drawer lets you name them: Action Comics to Xxxenophile, containing heroes from The Atom to Wolverine.
Give them a headquarters worthy of heroes. Give them The League.
This piece is specific to comics. If you're looking for something that can store comics, but is modular enough for books, minis, cards, and games, you may be interested in The Alexandria Codex.
The League includes choice of wood (walnut, maple, or cherry), choice of six different sizes, card catalog hardware for labeling the drawers, and clear finish.
Geek Chic furniture is all hand-crafted from strong, straight-grained hardwoods, all sustainably sourced here in the United States. Dark to light: choose between Black Walnut, North American Cherry, and Hard Rock Sugar Maple.
The drawers on the League hold 16 3/4'' of comics. 100 pound drawer slides ensure that your comics-- all of them-- are well supported and fully extendable, without any overhang.
Card Catalogue Hardware
For all the labeling your little heart desires.
Engraved Dividers (Optional)
If said little heart desires even more OCD release, we are pleased to order engraved comic dividers. You supply the titles, we'll engrave them for you. Enquire for price.
The League is measured not in feet, but in bays. When you choose your size, the League can be as small as 2 tall by 3 wide, or as large as 3 tall by 5 wide.
Please note that while custom sizes are available, we do not build the League overly high-- firstly to avoid a top-heavy scenario in our furniture, and secondly because part of the function of the piece involves being able to sort through your collection. If a League were 4 bays high, most would find this to be at eye level-- not the best for sorting as the drawers do not remove. Also the leverage of a full drawer at that height makes the unit a tip hazard.
Alexandria vs. League: Comics Storage
If you're looking for something less comics-specific, you may be interested in The Alexandria Codex.
Side-by-side comics comparison:
The Alexandria is 17'' deep overall. The drawers are modular (completely removable) and the comic drawers will hold 14 5/8'' of comics.
The League is 20 1/2'' deep overall. The drawers are on drawer slides that fully extend (you can reach your entire collection) and the drawers will hold 16 3/4'' of comics.
Price-wise, you will also save between $350-$1200 over the average comparable cost of an Alexandria filled with single drawers.
The Alexandria is a piece with its own solid, eloquent style, and it offers a versatility The League does not. The Alexandria comes empty; its modular drawers are fully removable. The drawers come in three different sizes and styles so you can easily reorganize or add on drawers over time. The Alexandria also gives you the option to have open shelves for books, games, display items, etc.... Whereas The League is a comics headquarters.
